Classics-Remodeling is Really a Challenge

In all walks of life, it is a challenge to remodel well-known classical works - such as films remake or re-design.

It also needs to take courage to remodel your own previous works.

Frankenstein 2011 is a work modeled by Ringdoll team to pay a tribute to gothic and science fiction works, and we spent a whole year and made painstaking efforts to design and model it.

We planned to remodel Frankenstein2013 this year, and we have been ready to face out all situations.


At the beginning of this plan, we also considered whether Frankenstein2011 head could be used again, a work is called as classics because it satisfies requirements more completely than others, so it really worried us that whether we should use Frankenstein 2011’s head in new edition.

However, we decided to remodel Frankenstein’s head in the end, because the re-release of sold-out limited products, in terms of a “Brand”, deprives actually the importance of limited edition. Frankenstein2011 is called as the classics of Ringdoll because all of its characters, including the limited edition, are just right. We should be responsible for our brand and customers who believe us and purchase our limited products, so we decided to remodel its head.

After the re-release, we gathered many opinions including compliments and dissatisfaction. We are always very happy to hear everyone’s opinion, because our team has to grow up with these opinions.

We have took more pains over this new Frankenstein, it has completely different accessories, designs and meanings, and his new face is totally different to the melancholy and stubborn one of first edition, so it is a completely new BJD. We also set a slightly sad background for him and Eva, and the details will be published in near future.

The 2nd edition of Frankenstein will certainly be sold out in future, and is also the limited edition which value is guaranteed by us. Meanwhile, we also assure Ringdoll friends that we always keep thinking and will never stop the progress.
